History

soundmagic music studio

We have been providing jam space for bands now for nearly a decade. Back in June 2002, we converted an old church in Peebles Street, Ayr, into a couple of rehearsal rooms and a control room.

In July 2006, we decided we needed a bigger place, mainly larger rehearsal rooms and more storage space. We then moved, round the corner, to our current much larger property on Waggon Road, Ayr.

Each year that goes by, lessons have been learned and decisions have been made on how to improve the studio and simply make it a better place for you to come and practice.

We’ve got a great recording facility, live room and control room, 3 large rehearsal rooms, a photo and video editing suite, 2 chill out areas, an office and tonnes of storage space.

If you’re interested in music on any level, if you’ve just started playing or you’ve been in a band for years, we’re confident we will be able to cater to your rehearsing and recording needs!

Alan Westwood

soundmagic music studio

As recently as 2013 a large cash investment was made by our good friend Alan Westwood.

Alan was a part of the studio for years as the self-proclaimed amp-guy, fixing equipment as and when required.
Sadly, Alan passed away in March 2014 and he didn’t get the chance to see the full impact that his generous investment has made. The investment plan and consequent upgrade to the studio has been carried out and is almost at the stage of completion.

The studio will always owe a large debt of gratitude to Alan and customers will see the benefit of his generosity for years to come.
